Happy Birthday!

Since this blog is about the little dog who runs our world, I thought it fitting to show you how she spends her days and to let you know that her litter was born two years ago today!

She also had quite the adventure last weekend. She came upon a nest of baby bunnies in our little yard! She bolted after them and they scattered! I was so scared she was actually going to get ONE! She didn't because there were 4 of them and she was a little confused about which direction to go first but she tried!

Mobile G5

Apple has been trying to find a way to come out with a mobile G5 computer. The heat dissipation on such a powerful processor is a major limiting factor. The power requirements for the processor alone would drain currently availble batteries in a matter of minutes. I am not sure that this guy works for Apple, but this may be the first mobile G5 available. I am going to wait until they can get it in a smaller case. Plus, it looks extremely heavy. In all seriousness, I saw this guy pulling this G5 box on a dolly on the back of his bike. I could not resist taking the picture. Mobile G5 was the best title I could think of while on the bus. Feel free to post alternative titles in the comments section.

A Sweet Pick Me Up...

John leaves for work very early. Since I hate mornings and move very slow, I am usually late and in a bad mood when I leave for work. This morning was very different (don't get me wrong, I was very late) but when I got in the car, I had a wonderful surprise! John had put a flower in my car for me!! It is the small gestures that I treasure the most. It was a wonderful reminder of what is most important in life! Love and FAMILY! It truly started my day off right! Have a great Tuesday!

I did not have tools with me...

We went to the Drake Relays a few weeks back and passed this sign on I-88. There is a small town in southern IL named Joslin. I can only imagine the size of that metropolis. Do you think I could be mayor if I moved there?

New Jeep!!!!

We are still in denial, but we are the proud owners of a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We have been debating when we would trade our trusty family truckster for a new model. We stopped by for a quick test drive and they made us an offer we could not turn down. I made the sales manger go back four times to re-work the numbers. In the end, we paid less than the true market value listed on Edmunds and Carsdirect, and got a killer deal on our trade-in. Amanda is so excited about it and so protective of her new car, she is not sure if Myer will get to ride in it. That should speak volumes.

If they melt....

Becca and Jimmy have obviously lost it. I know how hot it is in Houston this time of year and they are out running in that kind of weather. Please look closely at the pictures. If you hear of a couple that apparently melted in the TX heat while running and they are having a hard time identifying them from the pile of goo that remains, maybe these pictures of them will help. In all seriousness, I am quite impressed.

I think you should rewind. My super-tech husband just detailed how to post to a blog via cell phone. I believe there are some who read this who need to start a little further back.

1) Go to the Sprint Store and buy a cell phone that is web enabled and allows you to send emails
2) Turn it ON
3) Go to Messaging
4) Type message and send

Now for the confusing part
1) Buy a computer with internet access
2) Turn it ON!
3) Go to Google and learn about what a Blog is
4) Sign up for one

After these simple steps you too can be as nerdy as John. (In a few years). Have a great weekend, however nerdy you may be!

Mobile Posts

Since the idea of posting from your phone has become such a "techy" or "super-nerd" phenomenon, I thought I would give you another Dorothy moment and let you see behind the curtain. It is really as simple as sending an e-mail, no wait...that is all it is. The only thing you have to do is give your e-mail address to typepad and turn on the mobile settings. Go to the control panel settings in typepad (I am sure a similar setting is available for moveable type and others), click on the mobile settings page. Select the weblog to post to, and the folder for pictures to be filed in. Next, enter the e-mail addresses you will be sending the post from. Select confirmation e-mail. Save changes, and you are ready to go. Now to post, send an e-mail to remote@typepad.com. You will receive an e-mail back in a couple seconds stating that you need to reply to confirm. Simply reply (don't type anything...just reply). You will then get another e-mail stating that your post was successful. See, not so super nerd as some of my other skilz. Peace out.

Posts and the "Blog"

A few items for conversation on a Friday night from the "old lady"! John has been posting all week and since I don't have the technological savvy to post from my cell phone, I will post now. The old fashioned way, with a laptop and a WiFi connection!! ;o)

1) John's last post was a joke by Uncle Cris. I thought it was altered a bit and would be quite funny if you exchange "George Bush" for "Ted Kennedy"!! Try that!

2) Thank you RJ for your insight! I believe that your comments are so funny! For those of you who don't know RJ, he was in our wedding and he and is his lovely wife are great friends of ours and have two of the cutest boys!!

I think that is all for this week. Yes, I know that was only two thoughts, but I have had a very busy week and can't seem to muster anything else. John and I are in our usual spot, on the deck in the summer night with a cool beverage! Ahhh! I will continue to correct the grammar and the spelling in my husband's posts.
